Microsoft in a bid to showcase its commitment to Free and Open Source Software strategy acquired Github.com mid last year. Then it released its MS DOS's source code in Github end of last year. Now in a truely surprising and bold move, it has released the source code of the popular Calculator app for MS Windows 10. The requirements to build and run this source code are Windows 10 Operating System and MS Visual Studio. The source code is mainly in C++.
This is a truely unprecedented because this is the first time it has released the source codes of one of its core softwares to the public. But hold your horses people. It is not like you will see the MS Word source code anytime soon in Github but it is step in the right direction nevertheless.
